The NAMI Scranton & Northeast Region
Walk for Mental Health Awareness was supposed to be held on Saturday, May 2nd, 2020 on the Courthouse Square in Scranton. For over 20 years NAMI has used this event to kickoff a month of community wide awareness activities. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, for the first time in 22 years, this year's Walk will not be held.
But we know that the Hope, Awareness, and Support NAMI has always provided is just as important now as ever before. And we want you to know that, although we are separate now, YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
We will continue to hold activities throughout the month of May, activities that we can all participate in, separate but together.
We will be kicking off
Mental Health Awareness Month on
Saturday May 2nd, 2020 with a
NAMI Walk Weekend Virtual Treasure Hunt!
Please join us as we search for some of the
things we would see at the
NAMI Walk for Mental Health Awareness!
Post your pictures to our Facebook page and receive NAMI swag!
Throughout Mental Health Awareness Month NAMI Scranton & Northeast Region
will be recognizing the efforts of those in our communities who are working to help build a better life for those affected by mental illness by providing healthy food, safety and support.
Please join us in the coming month as we recognize:
Community Food Distributions
Woman’s Mental Health
First Responder Mental Health
and NAMI Volunteers
Visit us on Facebook each week as we raise awareness and funds for our community heroes!
We will end the month with a 'separate but together' virtual
Walk for Hope and Wellness on Saturday May 30th.
During the last week of May we will challenge you to take care of your physical and mental health by moving and sharing those pics on Facebook!
This will help get us ready to all Walk on Saturday, separate but together!
You can register for the Walk for Hope and Wellness below or by sending your name and address to email@example.com. Everyone who registers by May 23rd will be mailed a length of NAMI ribbon to cut as you are starting your own
Walk for Hope and Wellness, separate but together!
You can then share a picture of you cutting the ribbon or a picture of the cut ribbon to
receive some NAMI Swag in the mail!
Please remember that you are not alone, NAMI is here, our community heroes are here and we will get through this separate but together!
